As the Asheville Symphony Orchestra prepares for its 2019-20 season, we’ll hear from Darko Butorac, who is beginning his second year as Music Director of the symphony.
Butorac, was born in Belgrade, Serbia, but moved to the United States at the age of 10. He began his musical career as a cellist, but soon found his passion in conducting. As he puts it, “Seeing that your thoughts, expressed through gesture, can lead to creation of something shaping and influencing sound, is incredible.”
At LAF’s September 18th Critical Issues event, he will talk more about the art of conducting and about his vision for the Symphony’s new season.
