Meet Buncombe County’s New Manager
LAF November 20th Event
(Note: this is one week earlier than our usual date)
Avril Pinder is just eight months into one of the most high-profile jobs in Buncombe County. And at LAF’s November 20th Critical Issues luncheon event she will tell us what it’s like to take over as Buncombe County manager in the wake of the Wanda Greene scandal. After a six-month nationwide search, she was chosen by a unanimous vote of the county commissioners from a list of 40 candidates.
Ms. Pinder has plenty of job experience, having been deputy manager of New Hanover County before coming to Asheville. She’s also aware of the special situation which confronts her. As she put it in a recent interview, “After everything that has happened recently, I am committed to regaining the public’s trust…”
We hope you can join us.
