A brand new entrance with expanded parking opened in September at the WNC Nature Center. That was just one step in a master plan for enlarging the size and scope of the wildlife facility that has become one of Buncombe County’s top tourist attractions.
Under its Vision 2020 program, the Nature Center will be adding new features – like an Ancient Appalachians exhibit to showcase prehistoric creatures, such as the red panda, giant anteater and rhinoceros.
At LAF’s November 28th event, the Nature Center’s director, Chris Gentile, will tell us more about these and other changes coming to the facility. He also is likely to bring one or two animal ambassadors to help him out. We hope you can join us.
