Program Overview

Leadership Asheville Forums invites you to join an important conversation about the future of healthcare in Western North Carolina. Members of Reclaim Healthcare WNC — a coalition that includes physicians, nurses, elected officials, clergy, business leaders, and other community members — will share updates on their work since the coalition’s founding in October 2023.

Since the purchase of Mission Health by HCA in 2019, our region has experienced serious declines in healthcare quality and access. The coalition was formed in response, with the following key goals:

  • Replace HCA with a non-profit owner committed to meeting the healthcare needs of Western North Carolina.
  • Hold HCA accountable for harmful practices and culture.
  • Restore best-in-class care throughout Mission Health.

This event will provide an overview of Reclaim Healthcare WNC’s progress, advocacy efforts, and ways the WNC community can engage and contribute to positive change.
