Welcome to The Leadership Asheville Forum

While historically an alumni association of the graduates of the community leadership programs at UNC Asheville, the Leadership Asheville Forum (LAF) has become an association open to the public. The mission of the Leadership Asheville Forum is twofold: (1) providing public forums on issues critical to the well-being of the Asheville-Buncombe County community; and (2) providing opportunities for members to network with other leaders in the community. The Forum seeks to fulfill its mission by encouraging its members to become active in the network of community leaders, by offering a neutral and focused discussion of important local issues, and by promoting camaraderie and networking among the its members.

Membership and Benefits

While membership in the Forum is not required in order to participate in its activities, we hope you will support the Forum activities both by participation and membership. Benefits of membership include our annual special "members only" Christmas Party and Spring Social, and discounted luncheon fees. Click on Membership Application to download the form to send in for membership.

Critical Issues Luncheons

Critical Issues Luncheons reflect Leadership Asheville Forum's effort to focus on its core mission: to foster leadership by connecting our members to critical issues and to other leaders in the community. A fee is charged to cover the cost incurred. These are open to the public.

Evening Forums

Evening Forums represent LAF's collaborations with other organizations that share our goals of connecting Forum members with other community leaders and with issues important to our region. These Evening Forums, on important and timely topics of interest to the Asheville and Western North Carolina communities, are always free and open to the public.

Circle of Excellence Awards

Leadership Asheville Forum annually recognizes an outstanding community leader to receive The Circle of Excellence Award. We will invite you to nominate an individual for this prestigious award in the spring of 2012. Attached is the 2011 nominating form so that you can be thinking about qualified candidates for this community award.

We look forward to hearing from you!
